Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. In 2016, she joined ESPN. Her mother is TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since the age of nine years old a useful talent that enabled her to get her first position as a production assistant at Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on other responsibility. She covered the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. In addition she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collins' grandparents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She also has an older sibling. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. Antonietta was a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted. So while assessing if Mount Union is the right choice to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the campus. The result was that she liked the campus, and the university offered the major she wanted. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was part of the class, established an ongoing relationship with the student. His passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities encouraged her. She, in turn attempted to live up to his expectations and never disappoint him.
